Monte Solaro. To get to Monte Solaro, you can either hike up or take the chairlift. To check them out both options, my husband hiked and I took the chairlift. I think the best way to visit is to take the chairlift up and then walk down. The hike will take approximately 45-60 minutes depending on how fast you go.
The chairlift to the top is quite enjoyable, walk around the top of that area which is AnaCapri and then head to the main town square of Capri and the gardens there. At the top of Monte Solaro I remember there was a small café.
Head over to the chic town of Capri with your guide and take a walking tour, that includes a visit to the Augustus Gardens that look over the Faraglioni rock formations. Then, opt to visit the hilltop village of Anacapri independently or take the chairlift up to Monte Solaro (own expense).

Next I headed over to Anacapri where I rode a chairlift to the top of Monte Solaro. It was a bit scary riding in that tiny little chair dangling high above the ground. There’s my beloved, waterproof Teva boots that kept my feet warm and dry through all the rainy days in Italy. The 12-minute ride up Monte Solaro was beautiful.
