Vaas had met a girl and got the girl pregnant BEFORE the events of Far Cry 3. Since Vaas literally let Jason run away because he felt sorry for him, he let the girl flee out of the Rook Islands with Vaas' baby. Vaas had no intention of having a child so he simply said "fuck it" and just kept doing whatever Vaas did. The girl fled to Yara.

Father gaslights him for it. - Forced to witness extreme acts of brutality and inhumane barbarism committed by his father's regime and the lost of innocent lives in guerilla conflicts. - Gets forced to participate in the activities of said fascist regime, never had a real voice to fight back. - Constantly getting manipulated and guilt-tripped

Not exactly a spoiler, but there is an unseen character called "Smuggler" in Far Cry 6 who is voiced by Michael Mando and spoke in Vaas style with the unmistakable "hermano". This could be just an easter egg, but it still can back up the theory that the "death" of Vaas was just Jason's hallucination, and Vaas lives on up to 2021
